Cathy Johnson--An Artist's Journal

Cathy Johnson, otherwise known as Kate
2 October
External Services:
I've been an artist as long as I can remember--the drawings in my baby book put it even longer than that. I make art because I breathe--I have to. I've been self-employed for 25 years and more, and find the lack of security more than balanced by the joy of freedom--besides, it keeps me on my toes.

I've loved to write almost as long as I've been making art; caught it early from my passion for reading. Now I write books and articles for my bread, illustrate my own work and that of others, and paint and keep illustrated journals for the love of it.

I sell on eBay when I have time--my new I.D. is for art only. It's cathyjohnsonart (tough to remember, eh?*G*) and my other I.D. is katestreasures--it handles everything else! Please visit when you can!

I'm a member of EBSQ Self Representing Artists, and I'm still learning about all the options. It's a great site! Come visit me there, too...http://www.ebsqart.com/Artists/cmd_1494_profile.htm

I have a Flickr album where I share recent art and interests--it's here http://www.flickr.com/photos/cathy-johnson/ and I maintain three public Flickr group pools, Painting Plein Aire, http://www.flickr.com/groups/plein_aire/, Ink and Watercolor Wash, here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/782602@N21/ and Sketching in Nature, here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/nature-sketching/

I've made tutorial CDs that appear both on my website and here: http://www.cafepress.com/cathy_johnson and in my own catalog at http://cathyjohnson.info--if you have any questions you can reach me here at LJ or at kate@cathyjohnson.info

I'm a member of the international Urban Sketchers blog, and delighted with the opportunity to share! You can find it--and some wonderful art from all over the world--here: http://www.urbansketchers.com/. It inspired me to start a group blog of my own, also called Sketching in Nature--we have 43 correspondents now, with more being added! http://naturesketchers.blogspot.com/

And saving the best for last...I recently married my best friend, whose Live Journal you may know as kateslover. Life is GOOD.
