Two new journals

Two new journals, originally uploaded by Cathy (Kate) Johnson.

I finished my next to the last casebound journal yesterday and had to decide between these two--the bottom one I bound myself, in my usual size, with mostly Fabriano CP paper, and the new little one, a rebound novel from 1907 filled with Arches HP, from Moon Moth Press.

It won. Love the title and I needed a change!

It likes ink, a lot...

I like them both, but Days Off might be the winner for me, too. ;)

It's also quite small, only three signatures and one of them is writing paper, so I'll whiz through it pretty quickly! (Did three pages this afternoon!)

Arches HP

What weight is the Arches HP. I like to paint and sketch on 90lb Arches HP. I have been binding my own journals and love doing it. Someone told me they though the 90lb HP was to brittle to bind into a book. They though it would crack and not hold up well.

Re: Arches HP

It's 90 lb. It does want to buckle some when wet, and I've been told that it doesn't fold well for bookbinding. I didn't make this one, so I don't know--seemed to work fine!
