The bathroom next door is coming along!

Bathroom-201 (12), originally uploaded by Cathy Johnson2007.

We got the new linoleum in this morning, at last, and my handy

kateslover installed the toilet. Hooray, no leaks, and ready to use! (Would have been nice last month when we had to have the floor and plumbing replaced HERE, to have 2 bathrooms, even if they are next door. But...nope. We went primitive and waited till the floor people could get to us...I wrote about that here: http://katequicksilvr.livejournal.com/350689.html )

Anyway, we have two toilets now, it the room is looking marvelous. Who knew Jacuzzi made toilets, too...?  I thought they were just hot tub and spa people, like the link shows!

Now all we have to do is get the lavatory plumbed, the antique tub moved in and the plumbing connected, and move the washer and dryer back in. And connected.

Oh yes, and paint the walls and woodwork...

...and put down base shoe...

...and put the closet doors back on...

OK, we're not quite ready for prime time... ;-)

it looks fabulous! we redid our facilities to include the "old fart's toilet"--translated, it's taller than the usual stool, for aging legs and parkinson's freeze, which make getting up a lot more difficult. the coolest thing we got was toilet seats that are "hydraulically loaded" in the lid department. no matter how hard you try, you can't slam the lid, or let it fall and startle the folks nearby. it is nice--let it go, and it slowly goes to "parade rest". bad side effect--remembering that not all of our friends/family have the same luxury, and surprising ourselves at inopportune moments...oops!

Thanks, Miz Abbie--this one looks taller, but I don't think it really is. I haven't sat on it yet!

Wow, I didn't know there was a hydraulic lid!
Hooray, progress!
It does feel really good! We've had so much to do on THIS house we really hadn't been able to give it as much attention as we needed to...
Oooh, that sink is seriously cool. NOT what we got for that room...but yep, the tub we'll put in is a vintage ball-and-clawfoot one.
