WW I aviator's helmet

This is another of the cards I did for my young friend...I used to own a helmet like this one, and it was fun to wear! (Didn't have the goggles, though...)

This time I was using brown ink with the Kremer watercolors...fun combination, I think!

My sweet husband arrived here two days ago, and it's been a bit of a whirlwind since...we had dinner at Susan and Andy's last night, WONDERFUL as always--Andy's chef at The Elms Resort in Excelsior Springs, and we're SO fortunate he enjoys a busman's holiday by cooking at home. Huge pork chops, with a sauce made with onions and balsamic vinegar and other wonderful things...they were sure I couldn't finish, but I just kept plugging away, because they were far too good NOT to. (I think Joseph was willing to martyr himself to finish mine for me. Too bad!)

Susan gave us the DVD of our wedding, and we both cried...it was SO lovely...

There is something so poignant about that sketch. I think it reminds me of my late father, who was a WWII pilot. You can almost sense the presence of the man whose helmet that was.
I'm glad you and J are having a wonderful time, with lots of good food (cooked by someone else!)
We are having some blessed rain today--not a LOT so far, but some.

Hi sweet thing...my uncle was, too, and it reminds me of him--my mom's youngest brother.

And yes, we're having a LOVELY time, but I'm enjoying cooking for him, mostly! Rattatouille again today, he LOVES it. He does all the cleanup, and is working on my poor house, too!

SO GLAD you're getting rain!

XOXO
