Roberta's Chiminea

Roberta's Chiminea, originally uploaded by graphicartepsi.

This is today's sketch, while watering the plants and flowers at my cousin's house...I've always loved that simple chiminea, and it's gotten a delightful patina of heat and moss over the years.

I hope Roberta is painting as much as I am, while she's in Wyoming! I love to see her work when she gets home, and she often sends me a watercolor postcard of their travels. I treasure them!

Love your colors and the looseness--well, always love your work. But this does have a special charm to it. :)

Thank you, it was something I'd meant to paint for years, glad I finally took time!

Roberta's Chiminea

Wonderful capture of the sun and shadows and the color blend is fabulous.

Re: Roberta's Chiminea

Thank you, that was sheer serendipity! The lighting had been pretty blah, then the sun moved just enough to touch the chiminea, and I changed my whole direction!
